Noob regarding shocks here: so i read in thread that while riding on mid perch and mild off roading it is recommended to swap or rebuild the stock shocks around 50K miles which i am quickly approaching. Now since i don't have the money to upgrado to 3.0s at the moment which i plan to do in the future, how/where is this rebuilding done and what kind of cost am i looking at, since i know for a fact ford dealership won't replace them under warranty if there is no visible leaks on them.

A few different companies do them. You can send them out or try and find a shop locally that'll do them. Where are you located?

Obviously a local place is best, but if you send them out , I use Foddrill Motor sports in Peoria Az. They are a Fox distributor , not just a dealer and rebuilt mine on my first Raptor and this one . They will also add Schrader valves so you can refill the shocks and check pressure easier . I already had the nitrogen set up but they can also sell you the regulator etc. To top them off your self.

I just don't see a lot of people talk about that here. On our sand cars we top them off a couple few times a year. Think about if you went 50 k or 100 k and never checked tire pressure. It is a lot easier with the Schrader valves in my opinion.

Has anyone had the shocks revalved for mid-perch while being in for a rebuild? It would be nice to have the shock valved for the increased ride height/relation to bypass ports.

That's a great theory . The manager of Foddrill Motor sports has a raptor . I will ask him what he thinks if the idea and if it would be something we should do.

You can send your shocks to fox for rebuilding. You can also have them send out "rentals" so your not out of a truck while yours are being rebuilt. Not sure if they are still doing that or not though.

You can have the OEM shocks revalved. It requires some fabrication skills (welding, drilling) and know how to setup properly. There is a FRF member here (can't remember screen name) that was an ex-FOX dealer or employee (can't remember which) that has the knowledge and he had set his valving up for mid perch and also valved it to have 3 progressive zones instead of 1. Maybe he will chime in.

And here's the thread/page http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f65/onesickpuppy-2013-build-21757/index11.html

Edit: confirmation, fox does not do loaner shocks any longer.

For the past week I have been reading threads and taking notes. Maybe it wasn't here but I saw something along the lines that the stock Fox shocks need a rebuild around 1,000 with heavy off road use, 10,000 for normal off-road use and 50,000 for street use. Is that correct?

My current '06 Titan has Icon shocks from PRG with 40,000 miles of mixed use (mixed use for a Titan and what it is capable of doing) and are still going strong.

I don't think I've ever had a bad shock so how do we know with the Fox shocks when they need to be rebuilt?
