How are the fronts refilled with nitrogen? Do they have a shrader valve somewhere or other means? I can't find anything obvious...

Same OEM setup as the rears with the plastic BB covering the nitrogen needle insertion point. I've been told you can use a Schrader valve on the fronts but I haven't tested that out yet. I know my fronts need to be rebuilt so ill just have to try it out.

O.K. All you SHOCK GOOROO'S! I have 41,350 miles on my 2011 SCREW. I bought a used set of 4 OEM shocks from a 2013 SCREW. 15,000 miles on them.



So I will be sending in the old ones once removed. If it goes as planned I have 25-30K before I need to get the work done. Start saving now!

We think alike sir, sorry. I purchased a set of take-off also should be arriving this week.

I've got 42k on mine as while. Noticed the ride getting kinda soupy.

I'm still debating whether I'll man up and try to do it myself or have someone swap them for me. I've not handled tools for a long time, and my track record with them is not very good.

My plans are to swap then send old ones to be rebuilt. I also want to have the valve added to allow the pressure to be checked/changed. I don't know if Fox will do the valve mod or not. But I'll find out.

That good info, thanks for bringing it. Does this needle damage the port such that after some number of insertion, it leaks?

Do you know if this is usable on front and rear OEM Fox units?

Both front and rear OEM shocks have a charge port.

I can not speak about the OEM shocks as I do not know, but the charge ports we MFG (or the rubber plugs) can take about 3-4 charges before we recommend replacing. We do not actually use these on our Raptor 3.0's, we use them in our 2.0 & 2.5" lines.

Just don't go sticking the needle where it does not belong now!

To rebuild there are so many other tools that you need. Myself and Nitefighter hope to get a rebuild video for the rear shocks done soon.

I know it needs to be done. I tried looking everywhere for info on rebuilding the OEM rears, nothing out there. No manual, tools needed, nothing. I talked with a few people on some OEM specific specs and got the answers I needed. I also watched this video Rebuilding a Fox Off Road Shock.mov - YouTube and that helped. Our OEM rears are very similar to the shocks in the video. The vid will be out soon. I just need to order up some rebuild kits, oil and find some spare time to do it. Nitefighter and I will be glad to help out some fellow FRFr's willing to tackle this. It's not for everyone for sure. I just like feeling of doing it myself.
