1 year ago in the snow I couldn't get my truck to slip, slide, or get stuck no matter how hard I tried. This morning my truck is just all over the place. I about b*tch slapped an explorer with my truck bed. The truck downshifted on the freeway anc sent me all over the road. Thank god for traction control.
but what gives. My tires still have a good amount of tread left but they horrible this year.

You'd be surprised what difference even a small amount of tread makes... when they're new, they have that nice "sharp" edge to them, which really helps to cut through snow. That, and it's probably the road conditions as well, being a bit more "******" than last time possibly?

We have had good luck with the toyo mud terrains for our customers who live in the snowy areas. Tons of tread with sharp, hard biting edges.

Whtrapta,
I am sold on goodyear duratracs.. Good in missouri mud, and excellent in missouri winter slop.

Denver here and I'm sold on Duratracs as well. Put them on my old Ram in December of 2010 and they turned it into a totally different truck for winter driving. Once I burn off the stockers on my 2012 Raptor that's what it's getting.

it's this simple: the stock BFG's are not good in the snow. with a 6000 lb truck and 4wd, pretty much any tire will do OK with 100% tread. It's when they begin to wear that you'll see why they aren't good in the snow.

with that being said, if you thought the BFG's were good last year, I can say with some certainty that with an actual M + S rated tire on the Raptor in the snow you would be amazed at how well it handles and you would see that the BFG's weren't so good afterall, even with 100% tread.
