Stay away from 2017s?

17 is the first year but i think they had to prove all the new tech. Monster ecoboost and 10 speed. My 2017 was flawless and i i had one of the first ones out. 28000 miles totally flawless. My 2019 was the opposite. 3 transmissions before the 1st oil change. The 3rd one was acting up too when i traded it in. I'd be more confident in an early 2017 than a new one.

So weird and goes against logic. But it does seem to me that the 2017's had less issues. Now watch, as soon as I say this, my oil pan will leak! But 3 years strong and its been better than my Lexus

I have a 2017 with 49k miles. I did have an issue with the plastic oil plan leaking, but it was fixed after multiple attempts and has been leak free for the last 40k miles. I also had the valve covers replaced. My KO2's have 49k miles now and will need replacement in about another 5k. I still love my truck!

thats amazing tire life!

I only got around 32,000. But then again, I do like to spin those bad boys!

I would avoid the first model year redesign of ANY make, period. I would avoid the 2017 year raptors on the basis of a plastic oil pan, period. Why chance it when you can buy a 2018 similar miles similar money?

Normally i would think so but going from a V8 to the V6T was HUGE and risky. I bet QC was extreme on the first year launch. They knew it was going to be very hard to convince people on the Ecoboost already. Just my theory! My 2017 was awesome! My 2019 drove better but was a POS nightmare that left me stranded 3 times, almost killed me on the highway when it shifted into 1st at 70mph and tires locked up. All under 3000 miles. I was happy to be rid of it. I spent more time in ****** Ford rental cars than in my new Raptor. The Ecosport is neither eco or sporty. Lol. Its Its just garbage. I'd drive the Raptor for a week or two then stuck in a rental for 2-3 weeks almost on schedule.

The issue with your 2019 was no doubt a gross misdiagnosis by the dealership. Replacing 3 transmissions before the first oil change means they didn't identify the root cause, and instead decided to throw parts. It is also possible that they never properly flushed the lines and cooler after the first (legitimate) transmission issue, which will result in a repeat failure. Dealers are required by Ford to flush the transmission cooler and lines with the G-TEC/Flo-Dynamics Heated Line/Cooler Flusher in order to remove metal and clutch material. Some dealers either ignore the requirement and use a non-approved flusher or don't follow the procedure at all.

So for anyone who experiences a mechanical transmission issue in which the fluid becomes contaminated (bearing failure, clutches burnt, etc) be sure to note on the R.O. that the transmission cooler and lines were flushed. Also ask how they flushed them and which machine they used. If they used anything other than the G-TEC/Flo-Dynamics flusher, contact Ford corporate and open a case, because you will have a repeat issue.

Picked up my 17' with a buyback for ""throttle body stuck open" last June. It had 38k miles and im currently at 48.5k and haven't had a problem yet. Tires about to be replaced here in the next month or so.

Sounds like the previous owner had Pedal Commander installed, which is known to set DTCs with the description you provided.

My issues were all electrical related. Not mechanical. Fluid was clean and clear. No mechanical damage. They replaced valve bodies, crontrol units and complete transmissions. Kept having issues.

2017 no issues. Just turned 58,000 miles. New tires at 52,000
Great truck. 30% off-road and 70% highway. Oil change every 5k.
Pikser did you out ko2 back on or go with something else. I'm in the market for new tires this fall

45,000 Miles on my 17 and she's running strong with no issues.
Of course I do have an extended warranty just in case but so far so good!
