For whatever reason, the Gen 3 does not stick at all like my Gen 2. I used to lube up the Gen 2, haven't touched the Gen 3 in almost 2 years, it's like butter.

I'm guessing they changed something up.
Oh wow, ok. I found my front seal was ok, just a little dirty amd I cleaned it up and lubed it. The stationary seal had more separation from glass.
I wish I bought truck brand new, maybe would be diff via roof.

The Gen 2 used to pop when I opened it. So I'd go oil it up on occasion. Nothing weird on my '22 or my wife's 22. Our junk stays parked outside too.

I also think frequency of use has some impact on whether there is sticking or not.

Mine is smooooth, but I use it almost every time I drive

Thanks for reply!
I agree, the more you use.. I have no issues whatsoever except the rubber seal in back corner stationary seal.

Hi guys,

Noticed the rear part of stationary moonroof glass seal seems to be separating from glass in 1 area, drivers side rear. I lubricated the entire moonroof seal w KRYTOX and also put some on seal face itself to lube it. This area got worse via separation afterwards.
Any thoughts? Is this normal? Bad? It's a 2022 and warrantied.. so I can bring baxk to dealer. But sometimes opening up a can of worms can make things worse. Just got 2022 raptor in Feb2024.

Thanks Anthony
I had the same exact issue on my 2022. Dealer replaced the seal under warranty. They said it’s been common and have done a few. There’s an updated seal that they are using for replacement.

this is the way.

My wife's Lincoln had that and had it replaced at her oil change. It's just cosmetic and won't leak. It's also a really easy repair that doesn't involve the removal of either glass panel.

On these trucks it involves removal of the entire sunroof (headliner, and both pieces of glass) and is NOT just cosmetic. I was fully expecting to have issues after the repair but going on almost 2 years and all is good. New sreal looks exactly as you’d expect it to with no gaps.
