More times than not my 2012 raptor starts up just fine. But sometimes when I go to start it, it will crank strong as expected then randomly drop out for a second and then fire right up. Truck runs perfect and has no codes or other issues. Already got a new starter put on it and the mechanic said the flywheel was undamaged. Any ideas what it might be? I’ve attached a video of it happening. Thanks

Not sure when you did your plugs and coils but after doing mine I’d check all that first . I could see a wire coming off in a couple lower locations and 1/3 of my coils plastic was shot and the guts corrosion level was surprisingly extensive. Check your ground strap mine was almost gone .

Seems to be like a voltage dip. You can hear the starter slow down, and your gauges cut out like they lose power.

How old is your battery? What is the condition of the terminal posts and connections. What about the starter power wire? Main ground wire? Those are things id look into,

Trucks got 116k miles on it, I haven’t owned the truck very long. I’m not sure if the plugs have been replaced previously or not. Where is the ground strap?

I haven’t owned the truck very long. I’m not sure how old the battery is tbh. I got it tested at the auto store and it was reading that it was good. But I do agree it does seem like some kind of voltage drop off briefly and then it surges back. The terminals appear clean to the eye. The starter was just replaced and always cranks strong. Where is the main ground wire you are referencing?

Fuse 27 has been relocated by the previous owner. Truck has no fuel related issues once started.
ok. a partially burnt fuse 27 location can cause it to not start randomly. i had this problem when my fuse 27 started failing. i would almost think its an ignition/power related issue since the truck powers down for a second before recranking.

I’m at 119 did all fluids at 100 . If you can’t do it yourself go to a local store like autozone ask to check what they can . If they can’t find anything start by pulling a coil$ plug see what kinda condition. My one coil disintegrated in my hand when I pulled off the boot . That’s all for the 100 k .
