Haven't been able to duplicate it today. All wires on starter are good and I don't see anything wrong with the wire harness. Also, pulled fuse 27 and checked it for any flaws but that checked out. I will keep everyone updated. Thank u for all your suggestions

Hi terryturner,

I wanted to touch base and see how things went at your dealership. Let me know if you need my help; I'll continue to hang around this thread to see when you have any news.

I've had a similar issue with my 2014. Turn the key four times and nothing on turns 1-3 then vroom on turn #4. Vehicle is at the dealer and they are perplexed. Not throwing any codes at all. They are on the Ford Hotline to see if there is any info that Ford engineers can provide. Very concerning.

Try your other key and see if it still does it!

Hmm, let's see what I can do to help solve this puzzle, roundy69. What's the current mileage on your truck?

Thanks for letting me know, terryturner. I'll be here to help if it returns.

Problem solved by my local Ford dealer, Larry H. Miller Ford. The problem ended up being a loose wire on the starter. The wire has been fixed and the engine fires up on each turn of the key. Problem solved.

I had the same problem with mine. Ended up being a fuse. Mine is a 2010 though, so your fuses may be different. It was number 27. When I scanned the truck, a code came ups saying these trucks have issues with that fuse getting too hot and melting. So I replaced it with a fuse with longer prongs and has been fine eversince.
