You haven't done your homework on the Rivian R1T obviously. Mine cost me $ 78,*** and I should have it next month.
"The 2022 Rivian R1T is an electric truck that starts at $67,500 and comes well equipped, including a 317-mile-rated 133-kWh battery pack. Configuring a fully loaded truck with the optional 400-mile-range battery pack and all of the off-road goodies, gets you to about $90,000."

Plus rivians 15-20% price increase on march 1st 2022 made a lot of people happy.

And if you payed attention.. we were talking about the hummer EV. Thanks for your comment though and I was specifically replying to someone saying they'd spend 100k on the hummer instead of a raptor .

A pass I routinely travel along I84 through Mecham gets closed at the drop of a hat these days because of hazardous conditions and wrecks. This winter one of the major headaches was dealing with dead EV's. You just can't bring them a jug of gas to keep someone(s) from freezing to death. I was stranded up there once several years back when the fusible link failed on my truck and had to wait two hours for a tow with outside temps below zero and winds 40-50 mph. I was somewhat prepared with good boots, gloves, hat and a set of Carhartt extreme wear coat and overalls. But even so and staying in my truck after about an hour I had to rely on the grace of another truckers warm cab till the wrecker showed up. IF....(big if!) I ever purchase an EV it will be for short trips to the grocery and back. But in the long run cost analysis. EV's don't pay yet.

Heard something interesting about the lighting. Ford says do not flat tow. I assume that is when you would put the transfer case in neutral and pull it behind another vehicle.

Do you know if Rivian is the same.

Are you telling me you can flat tow that pig at 50 mph for an hour to build up a charge?

I am borrowing a dealers demo truck until my raptor arrives. 2021 F-150 2.7 Crew cab 2wd and I am seeing 23.2 hand calculated. My 2021 F-150 5.0 average was 19.X over 9,*** miles. Ford definitely has better gas mileage than GM from experience. I was a Chevy guy for a very long time and 5.3 or 6.2 trucks never got close to what I get with a Ford.

Another problem with EV's: Unless it's a metropolitan area or surrounding area, no infrastructure is in place for level 3 charging capabilities yet. I looked into this when I had a plan of building multiple EV c-stores with 12 chargers a piece, automated kiosks, wifi and bathrooms. Level 2 chargers wouldn't provide enough revenue and take too much time. Rural adoption is the key and I hope to corner/capitalize on the market before anyone else.

LOL this is just wrong on so many levels. Most are free especially in municipalities. I have my deposit down on the new Hummer and look forward to configuring and completing the order soon. No gas and an average of 10-15 bucks to an 80 percent charge.

I am not wrong. I didn't mention anything about pricing, I mentioned the availability of level 3 charging based on a business idea but level 3 charging isn't available in most rural areas. I also mentioned a business idea that is something most people use on at least a weekly basis instead of gas it would be electric. It's convenient and people like convenience.

Yes, several chargers are free in municipalities that receive grants or incentives to provide charging. Once the funding dries up, so does the free charging.
