before I spend 80-100 grand on a Gen 3 Raptor I would buy it.
There is nothing wrong with that either. I like having options and the ability to choose what I want.

It seems as if some are trying to take the the choice away. One of the justifications is that electric vehicles are so much better. I just wanted to point out that nothing is perfect.

I hate EVs but they are the future and I will eventually have to get one like everyone else. Hope to be able to keep ICE vehicles as well but I figure they will tax and raise gas prices till no one can afford one.

They appear to be the future, but having a goal that is 15 years down the road sure give those in power plenty of chances to kick the ball down the road. Case in point GM waited until the election was over to announce that they were going all electric by 2035. I imagine that had to do with the policies of each candidate.

You might be right, you might be wrong, and a lot can change.

So youre saying you'd spend 100k for commuting around the city and never going off-road, which is all the current EVs are good for. Try to argue an EV being good for anything else all you want. All the real world evidence is out there already and there's no practical sense behind an off-road EV.

GMC tested it off road and I don't do hard core off road. Farm roads, gravel, mud and ruts is about all it will see.

I'm just talking about from a real world stand point of trying to take it for a long trip or off-roading. Most of the evidence out there is showing EVs getting 1/4 the range when in sand or dirt. I'm not trying to say it doesn't work off-road, it works damn well and would be fun as hell to drive. I'm just looking at it from a stand point of where EVs are only getting a limited range off-road and need to be hitting a charging station every couple hours when you're driving on a long trip. Can't really take them anywhere off-road realistically that's why its hard to compare one to a raptor.

Lordstown motors is the perfect example racing the 250 in baja. multi billion public traded company, over million dollar race program, made it 40 miles during the race. The only other EV racing was a couple guys out of their garage and a <$25,000 budget called team shitbox, who made it farther than Lordstown. Lordstown motors ended up having to sell their factory to a taiwan cellphone hardware manufacturer

How many Raptors see off road? I bet it is less than 10 percent
