Finally got my truck on a lift and began the SW install. Got everything removed except exhaust manifolds and studs. Definetly have appreciation for all the full time mechanics that have to work on these vehicles. Some of these bolts are a real bitch to get to. Im sure those studs will be a piece of cake though, ha.

"PITA" , is all I have to say. The damn engineers that designed this truck have obviously never had to work on it. Finally got all the studs out. Went to bolt up the headers and found that SW sent me the wrong bolts. I read somewhere in another thread that this happened to someone else. WTF!!!!!, I am one unhappy camper.

You have my sympothy on getting out those exhaust studs. Why did SW use other bolts then the studs and nuts. Was it to help prevent the studs from breaking and causing an exhaust leak? Stronger hold for there product? Just wondering why. Thanks.

Well, its for easy removal in the future, so they say. If had known it was going to that big of a pain, I would have left the studs in and used the nuts. Too late now, im all in. Now I can remove the headers with ease, lol, and put them on my next Raptor.

Anyone ordering SW headers needs to check their bolts that comes with them. They sent me 10Mx1.5 and my truck takes the 10Mx1.25 fine thread pitch.
You would think if you purchased a $2400 set if headers and catback, that you could get the correct bolts overnighted. No gaurantee from SW however. Even though it was their mistake. They told me and I quote "we accidently put the wrong bolts in several orders, we have corrected the the problem now". A lot of good that does me now. Hopefully I will have them today so I can start installing the headers, uhg!!!

yes i had the same problem with my header bolts. sw said oh we had a few get thru with the wrong bolts but that problem has been solved. yea right. that was 2 months ago. i just put back in the studs and nuts on most of them and got header bolts for the ones that cannot use studs.. good luck. gotta give you credit for even trying the job. it is a really time consuming job. also i dont think you can use the studs on a few of the header mounting holes. because the pipe for that particular cylinder comes across the front of that hole. so you pretty much have to use a bolt. that was my experience anyway

Which is louder? Turbo chambered or Turbo S-tube?

I believe the S-tube Turbo mufflers are louder. It is recommended to be paired with the factory Y-pipe connect. Whereas the Turbo chambered mufflers are supposed to be paired with the full header system.

Found out my headers bolts would not be here until late monday. This is a bunch if BS, IMO. Decided to start the install and reuse the factory studs and nuts. Installed the bottom row off studs on the drivers side first. Put nuts on the studs and ran them partially up. This would give the header something to sit on while I installed the upper row of studs. Got header into position had to install the two middle studs and nuts first, because as beemerman said, this would be the best place for bolts. You have to tilt the header out a long ways to get the stud started, because the tubes run across the holes. Almost impossible, but can be done with alot of time and patience, and a skinny torx wrench. Once the two middle studs and nuts were in it was downhill. A 15mm ratchet wrench was my only friend from here on. Took what seemed like an eternity to tighten these damn things. Finally a little satisfaction. Seems like I am getting somewhere now. Have to get a few nuts for the passenger side studs, dropped them in one of the many black holes this truck has. Passenger side should be a piece of cake compared to that drivers side. Back at it again later today. Peace!!!
