does this stick out any further than the stock bumper?

Stock bumper is flush with the plastic, you can see in the pic how much further it sticks out. Maybe 2-3 inches.

CORRECT 2-3 inches. We wanted to keep it close and clean, We know some of you guys need it close to get it in the garage.

Off topic... what cooler is that in front of the radiator?

On topic... can the stock recovery hooks be used? A personal pet peeve is having to recover someone in a ditch without a recovery attachment point. It tears up the recovery straps having to wrap around the frame.

please refer to pics in original post, Yes tow hooks can stay in stock position for recovery, We really try to think of every aspect of true bolt on when designing our bumpers.
