1000 to two 10's is minimal in my opinion also. But 1000 is about as much as you want to put on a stock electrical system. I'm over 6,000 watts on two 12's. A basic 10' is 500rms and I wouldn't run anything less than that.

I doubt I'm hitting 130 with my 12's which are 100 pounds a piece, over 900 bucks each in a custom enclosure with 6,000 watts on 112ah of headway lithium. Hell my vision gets blurry from the bass and all the glass starts popping. Rear view falls straight down in the first few beats.

HaHa…just a 49 year old basshead. I got some great guys local that have taught me tons. I’m about to change it up though and back track to four underseat 8’s on a 4K at .5. Want more SQL.

Think you saw the enclosure in another post. It's a Gately and Bobby Gately is one killer dude and great to work with. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. I refinished the box already and went with a rustic distressed red to match the red interior. Pretty stoked how it came out. I've got a killer idea for an amp rack that allows my amps to be mounted backwards. So if you lower the back seat you will see the back of the amp and the amp will be in the void giving me more room for the seats. Should help will cooling also. I bought the Sundown Acrylic back plates.

On my last truck (17' Lariat) I just replaced the factory speakers with Focal's ISC series. Did separates in the front and some sound deadening. I think it helped, the improvement was noticeable.

yes , I hit about 124 db at best ,with 1650 watts . my point was your not hitting 130 db with a 50 watt per channel amp

Ok, we disagree. I did see 130 and as I said and more important overall- pain in the ear. Every test at volume after test #1 has involved either ear plugs, over the ear protectors or both. That pain is a sign of potential hearing damage. By all means, go forth with your 124 db reading.

I posted all that to say if you’re going to upgrade your speakers go the extra mile now to do it right the first time. You’ll be much happier.

A theme that reoccurs throughout A/V upgrade discussions and one that is worth considering.

Was just looking at some Dynamat for that very purpose.

I did about 80% coverage inside the door behind the glass with strips then did the Sound Skins cut to fit doors. Also the block off plates will help seal the door to aid the speaker.
