GEN 2 Spare Tire Stolen...

it was semi common with the gen 1. they usually cut the cable and take the spare. find a spare here and maybe check tasca for the rest of the parts. but send that estimate to the insurance company. thats a hell of a bill for that

I just want to make sure they didn’t damage anything else under there trying to wrangle out the tire.

I bought a stock spare tire and rim off a guy on eBay for $399, minus the TPMS. It now rides with my original spare in the bed locked to the carrier.

That sucks, just get a spare from the for sale section here, should be able to get the mechanism online and install yourself. If you go through insurance, let the dealer get all new stuff.

Thanks Corona. I’ve been looking for someone to sell me a spare rim/tire. Hope I find one at a good price. If I can’t find one at a reasonable price I guess I could just go with a steely as a spare!

Can anybody think of anything else under there they could have been damaged while they stole the tire? I’ve driven only a couple miles since and everything seems ok but I hate knowing that somebody was under there trying to cut free the tire.

Just look for damage to the brake lines and wheel sensors on the rear end housing and wheel hubs, just in case they had there feet up there pushing on stuff for leverage. Hopefully nothing.
