So took a little drive today and noticed something. My auto start/stop was not working. Now don’t get me wrong, I hate this feature and have it disabled 99% of the time. Hard for me to believe something around my spare tire could affect the start/stop feature? Anybody have any thoughts?

Not sure if this is the case. But if you had not driven it in a while, short trips that don't give the vehicle time to charge itself, or for some other reason the charge of the battery is a little lower than usual, the battery management system will temporarily disable the auto stop/start until it thinks is charged enough. So, there may be nothing wrong. Go drive it for an hour and see if it re-enables itself.

Good point. Don’t drive nearly as much with the pandemic...thanks for the helpful insight.

As for the Pulp Fiction link, great reference!....that is exactly how I felt all day....a very quiet rage was boiling in me.

Haha! Don’t blame ya. I would feel the same. I have been lucky, I have never had an issue with a breakin/theft before. Knock on wood... of course I only lived in a city for 6 years of my life. Rest has been in the burbs/middle of nowhere.

Even though I live in the burbs now, about a year ago, my neighbor caught on his security camera some dude checking car doors to see if they were unlocked.

So even though you are moving to the burbs, take some measures to protect your stuff.

I feel like one of the biggest deterrents is having bright light shining on the area. For some reason those POS thieves do not like being easily seen.

Sometimes I really hate people.

Walked out to my truck this morning and found a cable dangling from the rear end. Automatically figured some a-hole stole my spare.

I have no idea what they damaged or how they stole the tire....been trying to find a picture of what it looked like before they stole it but haven’t had much luck.

I called the dealer to see if they can give me an estimate.

They said the wheel, tire and winch (that holds the tire) would run just under $3,000 with labor which seems absolutely ridiculous. The bulk of the cost has to be the wheel (I have the bead lock capable wheels).

Wanted to see if any of you had a similar unfortunate experience or have a suggestion on how I should fix this issue.

I’ll update with a picture once it stops raining.

Any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated.

Sorry to hear about this, have you thought about submitting a claim to your insurance company?

I did but due to some great folks on this forum I’m going to be able to replace everything for a fraction of the cost. Huge thanks to Dustan for just being a great guy and donating the tire mount and thanks to Raptor50 for selling me an unused spare for a reasonable price!
