Alright guys, if you have any kind of GPS that is capable of loading tracks pm me your email and model of GPS. I'll send out a file that hopefully will work.

I hesitate to make any recommendation since, well, lets just say there is probably is a large amount of "user error" involved. I tried My Tracks with the file Bigg50 sent to me and I can't figure it out. My Tracks successfully read the file and I could see a bunch of short segments. I believe to see the route as one continuous segment, it goes to Google Earth and thats where my Razr smartphone fails me. Google Earth launches, but thats all it does. Doesn't seem to want to "play" the route. I also have Locus (free version) installed on my Razr. I imported the file and it worked flawlessly. I can see the whole route. Now, I beleive this was a problem at one time, you could not download and store maps. In other words, you would get a blank background unless you had gps signal. Anyway, take my ramblings with a grain a salt, I'm no expert on this.
Bigg50 sent me the 1 continuious trail file last night and it works great in My Tracks. I also tried it with Locus (free version) and it worked. Discovered with Locus you can download maps. I tried downloading MapQuest maps of the trail (map screen option) and it gives a option of resolution, something like from City to House level. House level was like 3GB and Street level was like 300MB. Haven't seen a way to download maps in My Tracks yet.I tried what you were doing, when it exports to google maps, it's not starting navigation or anything, it's trying to take you on a tour of the route on your phone, basically so if you were talking to someone about it and wanted to show them what the route looked like, you would go to google earth, but to follow the route I'm pretty sure you use my tracks, ask bigg for the maps again, on mine it shows it as one continuous trail
