here, on frf
i depends on what you call bumpy. going almost 60 on a rock road in a chevy, would have destroyed it, however in the raptor, wasnt so bad. so define bumpy. and the fact that it was on for however many miles of that same road we were on, and then all of a sudden........ bye bye.

i think i know how to work that suction cup mount..... some of the satelite radios we install use the same type.

^^^Mine stayed put and I know my truck was hitting it way harder ;-) At least on the first day. I'm sure the area you applied the suction cup had some dust which prevented it from getting a strong seal.

This' all out the window if you don't have a sunroof - I like to mount my Gopro in the center on the roof just in front of the sunroof. Makes it easy to reach up and adjust the camera. I also started playing with mounting the Gopro upside down to the closed sunroof inside the cab. It's another cool perspective. And finally I'll mount it on the rear window. This angle does a better job of capturing how fast your going or at least it looks faster.

Check out my Lost Coast video since it has all the angles I've played with.

Any Android users have recommendations for offroad gps apps that could download the maps for the run?

Ruffstuff is playing around with "My Tracks". It's a free app. If you want to play around with it just pm me your email and I'll send you the file. I just used google to find an app for Android and that's the same way I found MotionX for the iphone.

FYI, I should have everything finalized with the Silver Legacy tomorrow so everyone can start booking their rooms.

I hesitate to make any recommendation since, well, lets just say there is probably is a large amount of "user error" involved. I tried My Tracks with the file Bigg50 sent to me and I can't figure it out. My Tracks successfully read the file and I could see a bunch of short segments. I believe to see the route as one continuous segment, it goes to Google Earth and thats where my Razr smartphone fails me. Google Earth launches, but thats all it does. Doesn't seem to want to "play" the route. I also have Locus (free version) installed on my Razr. I imported the file and it worked flawlessly. I can see the whole route. Now, I beleive this was a problem at one time, you could not download and store maps. In other words, you would get a blank background unless you had gps signal. Anyway, take my ramblings with a grain a salt, I'm no expert on this.

Good to hear!

I believe if your Garmin allows you to import tracks it should work. I'm working on cleaning up the tracks and making it one big one. Once I have it I can start emailing it out. Hopefully it will fix the issues Ruffstuff is having.
