Looks like ya'll had a blast. My last couple of weeks has just went down hill. Not only did I get sick and miss the run, I worked on the interior for a buddies '49 Ford and got it finished while I was sick, we have been working on it for 18 months, thrashing for the last 6 months. Headed to its first car show Friday night about 3 hours north. Got done with dinner and when my phone finally got signal it flooded with text and voicemail. The tornado that touched down in St Charles went through out neighborhood. So we turned around, checked out of the hotel and drove 3 hours back down. Got there at 2:30am to find this.

Tornado dropped a limb through the windshield, bent the roof, a-pillar, pushed in the fender and gouged the fender and hood.
We feel pretty lucky because this and a fence are all we lost from all of the trees limbs that dropped. The real damage starts 4 houses down, that block has 5 houses that are a total loss and 10 that have to be repaired before they can live in them.

After cleaning up the yard and fixing fence, I washed the truck last night and looked for any other damage, taped up the windshield and delivered it to Pundmann for to do the repairs. Insurance agent is supposed to go by today or tomorrow to do the estimate.

The limb came from about 1/4 of the way from the top of this tree.

Drove it to the Ford house like this.

One cop looked at me and looked down like, I didn't see that just keep going.

Just catching up on posts and saw what happened. Unbelievable but glad you're alright. I know it's just a material thing but it's got be frustrating to have it for so short a time and then have this happen.

Insurance called last night. They are repairing roof, a-pillar, fender and hood. Putting new windshield and hood graphic. So far $4000 worth of damage. Will update the estimate once the glass is cleaned up and headliner is out so they can see if there is any other damage.
Now I am back to the waiting game. Hopefully I don't have to wait 3 months for it this time, already missing it.

Thanks! We feel pretty blessed compared to what our neighbors are going through. It sucks about the truck, but could have been so much worse.

Heck with the drag racing. I might drive there for the food and cookies.
