Just bought a 2010 Raptor SVT (5.3) and have quickly discovered that basically you need to learn it, fix it yourself, give it proper care and be a proud owner. Only two months later I got problems. Cat P0420. Great info out there so thanks all. I will try a different approach and see if I cant fix before buying new Cats. I guess I do have one question: :"Fang" came with an Alpine X009 head unit with NaviTools (2015?). I did exactly as instructed by alpine to reset the unit (too long to boot and GPS off by 200'). now, no GPS fix. Alpine support was not helpful at all and I went around the bay area looking for help. No one wanted to help. I havbe ot take the head unit oiut and send it Alpine. I don't want to do that! Any one have an after market Alpine? what could I do?

On the error code check the downstream O2 sensor. On my old Gen 1 I had a hell of a time with this code, and it turns out some knucklehead had dropped the O2 sensor on the ground when changing out my system and it caused a small crack in the ceramic. could barely see it, but that was enough to throw the code.
