The guy is clearly trolling. I should not have responded. I suspect that none of the people threatening to buy a TRX over a Raptor will ever buy either one ...

you obviously don’t get my point. What I said was gen 2 base raptor even with 801 package was a deal compared to the competition. 66k gen3 with the same v6 underpinning isn’t, because for the price of 801a package ( which doesn’t seem to add anything of value for the price )more you can have a v8 with extra 200 hp.
C8 corvette base is a great deal at 60k. C8 corvette 3Lt with all the add ons at 90k it isn’t because that’s z06 base territory.

Seems like 800a has different headlights as well. Hopefully it is Atleast on par with gen 2 in terms of looks and not a regular f150 with amber surrounds

Count me amongst the group that is disappointed with the price increase as well. I don't care if some of it is 'justified' by higher equipment levels. I don't want leather, sunroofs, electronic this n' that in a truck. I want a V8 and a great suspension. I knew the independent rear was going to come with a price tag but this is a bit hard to swallow. Looks like I will pass on the generation and maybe wait for the Ranger Raptor which is a more useable size for what I want to do with it anyway.
Says he wants a V8 then says he is gonna wait for a ranger raptor......

I paid 61k for my 18 801a, 3 and half years and 53k miles later, I could sell it for more than 50k for it today.
Raptors are cheap to own, depreciation wise.

Wanna save money?
Get an econobox, or a nice NA V6 XL F150 2WD with a vinyl floor...and save a few hundred a year in depreciation...

Damn straight I will get an new R at 100K, if I can get one without ADM.

What I do find interesting is nothing in the below is worth 6k to me....but the Torsen, and its still an available option for $695 in the bundled option.....

I don’t like the fact that the new pricing has made it less accessible to a lot of folks. Like you said, your SCAB 800a was 54k. How much were the Gen 1s when they were around? The cost of admission and options is getting a tad ridiculous, even if the new “base” options are equivalent to the old 801A package.

I think Ford created the Tremor in order to meet the needs of those who don't want to pay that much for a Raptor. And while I somewhat agree that the prices are up there, it's not like there isn't a market for them. The prices aren't based on the cost of production, they are set for what the market will bear, and so that Ford has a truck slotted for every price range from an F150 XL regular cab all the way to an F250 Platinum.

What's the engine on the Tremor?

I’m in AL biz, sell to Ford. Exactly 1 year ago CU was around $2.23 & AL was $.65, today CU is $4.50+ & LME AL trading bout $1.10....oh yeah & the midwest premium (kinda like “ADM” in the AL manufacturing biz) - that went from $.08/lb to $.244/lb for delivery of prompt metal

you guys are aware these things are made outta aluminum right? Including the motor/trans/t-case/front diff/running boards & A-arms.....we are lucky they didn’t raise even higher, I’m sure Ford has a hedge program for their raw inputs which helps

steel is way up from a year ago too-

the guys building a sauna in my basement told me the 2x4s are 2.5x the price from a year ago

It cost me $125 to fill up the Rappy yesterday

welcome to inflation bro

thanks Joe!
