Anybody recommend a high quality long handled ice/snow scraper? Seems like I have to get a new one every year as they don't last. Figured something that can get ice but also with a broom for the snow.
I've got one like this but from Costco. My dad still uses one of my older ones that's about 5 years old. I just wanted a new one because the rubber blade had worn out after a couple years.

Hopkins SubZero Avalanche Pivoting Snow Broom w/ Ice Scraper - 54" Long Hopkins Winter Weather Supplies HM14015

Have on of these too for the when the ice gets really thick.

Keep in mind, not all folks attending Snoball are used to the temps and/or have had a lot of snow driving experience. A number of my IMO Tips will also be for this group of attendees.

Snoball Prep Tip:

Clothes: Layers is the key to warmth and comfort.

Required item list Common Question: Why do we need to have the spare securely stowed in the bed?

Answer: Your undercarriage will be frozen solid and impacted with snow/ice. Between that and the snow already on the ground under your truck, you would never be able to retrieve your spare if left in the OEM location.

See ya next Monday with another.

I was planning on bringing two spares, one in the bed and under in the OEM location. My thought was if needed on the trails, will use the one in the bed and swap them when we stop for the day. But it sounds like that is a worthless idea and might as well just bring only one spare that is in the bed?

The odds of you getting the tire out from under the truck are about -13%. Very similar to the temperature outside during the event.

That was my plan also last year. I did not need to make it happen, thankfully. I will say that at the stops there is enough time to chip away at the snow/ice with tools and a blow torch to allow ya to change them out but it will be some work.

I think your odds are better at the hotel parking lots. But on the trail I agree with Jason. Maybe 40% at hotel. And -13% on trail.

Well that is a 53% improvement!
Yes I was thinking like I said, trail change is with tire in bed and hopefully swap later.....
People actually bring blow torches with them?
