After seeing the thread(s) on the other site, and thinking that the product was a bit pricey (and limited in selection options), did some interweb spelunking ( Google [ car armrest ]). Result: Elbow Friend
  • attaches via velcro. *Thought being to make a plug that fits the door panel armrest handle hole and have the it attach to that. -OR- just use it as is.
    .
  • it's cloth.
    • arm won't sweat like it would with leather.
    • washable and easily cleaned.
    .
  • can be used on either and/or both sides as well as the center console.
    .
  • it's inexpensive.
    .
  • several colors.
    .
  • available now. *No waiting for shipment when a batch is ready.
    .
  • and ... it's inexpensive. MEANING: Not much $$$$$
Anyway ... FFT

I saw an armrest almost exactly like this in a truck stop yesterday for $12.99. It used memory foam and had a suede-like cloth cover.

Yeah that would sit too high for me. I'm tall so my seat is almost as low as it can go and my right arm rests on my console with right hand on the shifter and left arm either elbow resting on the door or at 12:00 on the wheel. I need to figure out how to wrap the armrests on the doors in leather. Would be very nice. It would require me to take a long trip to Texas to my leather supplier though...

It would be nice if they offered armrest for both the drivers side and the passenger side. I showed this to the wife and explained how it raises your (left) arm level with the center armrest. She had no clue that the armrest on the door was lower. Looks like she isn't getting one. lol

Anyways, I went ahead and did the preorder. Just google snap rest and you'll find the discount code. Thanks @FreightTerrain

theyre finally shipping orders out. let us know when you get yours and give a review.

I've found that when the seat is lowered to it's lowest position (which for me is the normal position) that the door's armrest (as well as the center console) are at a just-the-right-height.
