Get one if you’re able. You won’t feel a thing on those cobblestone streets they have in German cities.
I (luckily) don't live in Germany, but we do have cobblestone roads for aesthetics and to keep people from speeding. This dealer is actually located on a cobblestone road, haha! And the Raptor handled it like a unibody car... I was truly amazed. My RAM felt like it was rattling all over the place and falling apart driving there, lol!
Welcome to the place. Let us know if you get one, they are very reliable vehicles.
Thank you! I was honestly preparing to get it out of my head. They sell so quick they couldn't even schedule a test drive for me. I decedied to call back on Friday and the first guy who helped me was there, and he could schedule one on Saturday! I decided to go yesterday and finally drove one.
I was very impressed with how nimble and planted to the road it felt. I have a 2019 Wrangler Rubicon with KO2's that drives pretty bad on road so I was a little scared the Raptor would 'float' as well, but she drove WAY better than my Ram Sport. Like I said, over bumps and everything it feels like a unibody.
I don't understand the people who said it rides 'rough' or harsh or that it's not meant for highway driving. It genuinely drives smoother than my RAM that's not even built for hard core off-roading.
I kind of assumed it wasn't going to work out. You're not really allowed to pay cash for a new car in the EU, but they need to allow me to pay some in cash (I also don't pay tax on whatever I pay in cash). He offered 20k at first, which wouldn't be worth it, especially since they gave me a horrible trade-in value for my current one. Then all of a sudden, the guy who owns the place tells me they could do 30... which made it not impossible, so now I'm REALLY considering it! I kinda want to push it to 35 lol. They can't give me a better trade-in value, and proposed to sell private so I need to figure that out but damn... it might actually be possible.
The only things I miss (I know, it sounds stupid and corny), are that there isn't really a 'hood view' from the driver's seat. Loved seeing the hood.
And of course, the sound... I really love the sound of my V8 so much, and it's still stock. Kind of afraid I'll get some FOMO when other guys drive by with their good-sounding trucks... but then again. I really love the Raptor and it's so much more capable. I can't afford to get stuck again with RAM's horrible fake 4X4 system.
Thank you guys all for the input!! Helped so much!!
I'm suck at making decisions and obviously got a little attached to my old truck but I think the Raptor is what's best for me. Thank you!!!
Hope you guys had a great New Year as well!
