Read your pullout pamphlet in the manual case, It gives you a quick break down of what all the settings do.
It's one of the 4 nannies Ford has in place to keep you safe.
Also if you do a spinout/360 on the highway, and your in off-road mode, it's all on you. If they find out that is.
I believe it states somwhere in the manual "Do Not Use Off-Road Mode on the Public Streets or Highways".

This would be something someone needs to try, the truck does look for the position of the lockers.
Or the current/voltage of the wires going to the diffs.
Having it hook up to an uplifter switch would be simple that's for sure, just don't know what/if any error codes it might throw.
