My Cravenspeed stubby

TBH I don’t use the radio much but reception seems fine and I like the low profile look.

I removed the ball on my factory antenna then cut off just enough to clear my garage door. Used a little JB Weld and glued the ball back on. Looks stock and I have not noticed any lose in reception.

I have the stubby .50 cal antenna...it works fine...stations that are weak fade a bit sooner than before, but not a big issue. The stocker was banging the hell out of my garage, so it had to go.

Thanks for the replies. Haven't decided which to go with. I don't care for the look of the stock one but it works with the radio and doubles a a warning for overhead clearance. We'll see what happens.

I wanted to keep it as long as possible, for better reception the further I got from town.

I cut the 6" or so off the top, popped the corona ball off that piece and put it back on the shortened stock antenna. It clears the cab of my truck without hitting the garage when I pull in, and I haven't noticed any change in reception.
