shocking shock discussion

So new member here and first post. Did a little searching but didn't see any answers. Just bought a 2010 with 34k miles on it. Noticed the rear shocks are black and do not look like the traditional FOX version. Is this par for the course on 2010's? I was shocked as I thought they all had the FOX version.

All black with a reservoir? Or just black shocks?

With reservoirs . Looks just like the fox ones but all black

Well apparently there is some fox going on after all... some weird coating on shocks, maybe undercoating? Any ideas on how to remove?

WTF did they do with these shocks ??!!

Those are the stock FOX shocks, gotta find something to remove that black coat, but it may destroy the blue anodized & stickers on the shocks body...

Lucked out and a little urethane reducer and some elbow grease ate right through the undercoating
