Hi all,

I recently bought a 2012 Raptor with 64,000 miles and I am assuming the shocks were never rebuilt given that it was purchased from a dealership. I am also experiencing the front-end clunk and seeking the mid-perch, so I figured I would do the mid-perch + replace the front shock bolts while I had the shocks serviced.

I am looking at doing the core exchange through Forged Off Road and then adding the Shutter Valve upgrade vs going with Shock Therapy and their RIS (Ride Improvement System).

It seems both describe the improvements about the same. Is it the same thing with a different name?

Any suggestions/warnings/otherwise regarding those two options?

Thanks!

I read both of those and if it were me I would go with the shock therapy set up. I am very familiar with their work in the razor world and they have an excellent reputation. The other company sounds like they're just going to change the valving on the piston. Whereas shock therapy is a lot more in depth to give you the absolute best ride.

I've never heard of Shock Therapy on this forum at least. What are they doing for their 2" lift?

On the gen 1 it’s just a mid or top perch mod.

ST’s shop is the one of the cleanest one’s in the off road industry! And they always do 1 day turn arounds with an appointment.

They have a semi truck, and actually do revalves on Rzr’s in Glamis on holiday weekends! I watched them working once, and I commented to them that their revalve production line looked like they worked at In N Out in the past!

I have no knowledge of Forged Offroad other then what I read in the link.

Interesting. Thanks for the info guys. I am surprised no one has used them. I don't know how I feel about being the guinea pig...

Also, the pic of the black truck on Shock Therapy looks stock height, not raised in the front...which confuses me.

I'm curious about Shock Therapy. Anyone on here have them rebuild/valve their shocks? I'm guessing they set them up at mid-perch and valved for that.

I have an appointment with Shock Therapy on the 19th to get them rebuilt so we'll see. They are local to me so I'll take a gamble and use them but they are pretty well known in the UTV world so should be ok

I will for sure, I will be doing the Schrader valve upgrade and full shank lower bolts from forged off-road at the same time

Good call on both. I just stumbled across the Forged Shock bolts, seems like they should work well for the clunking.
