Same reason they fill tires with nitrogen, its an inert gas that wont expand or contract with temperature.
It will try to expand with temperature increase in a closed system, which your tires pretty much are...the only result you will see is the pressure increasing on heating - the tires would otherwise balloon up in size if the volume wasn't fixed by the structural integrity of the tire. Nitrogen fills eliminate the oxygen (~21% in sea level air) which is CLAIMED to oxidize the inside of the tire and shorten its life. I've really not seen any evidence/documentation yet which substantiates that it's a benefit in any way.
