Securing spare tire?

For those of you without a spare tire rack how do you secure your spare in the bed while off-roading? Taking the truck out for the first time this weekend and looking for ideas

Tie downs work very well

Just use them with the four lower loops at the corners of the bed. I was going to try that as a last resort. Was hoping somebody had something creative or a DIY.

I just put my cooler on top of the spare & put crappy beer; nobody has ever stoled my spared.

I actually installed a cargo rail system in my truck bed & use two straps to secure it.....

I like that...how and where did you get the rings that it's secured to in the bed I've searched but couldn't come up with anything not sure what to search lol I see the ones in there now are just torch screwa

They're actually a Chrysler part lol here is the link to the part! For the middle one I used a large bolt and nut. On the underside of the bed I used a large washer to keep it from pulling through the bed I did drill through the bed just so ya know!

For the other two ends I attached them to the bed bolts and that's it it's that easy!

I can tell you what not to do: Do not use a single 1" ratchet strap to strap it to the bed through a couple of D-rings mounted to the bed itself. The strap will snap in the whoops and the spare will go flying out of the back of your bed... ask me how I know... lol.
