SCT Livewire TS question regarding backup camera

Got my Livewire TS today. Next month I'm getting the camera. But I can already see the RCA in plug where the camera goes, and there seems to be two ways to activate the image. Manually or automatic. I'm assuming automatic is when it detects an image feed in the RCA port it will display it. Manual would seem to require you to press the big round "rear view camera" button on the main menu.

I'm thinking of hooking up a front camera to an upfitter switch. Flip the switch, see the image. I'll tell you next month if this works or not.
