I bought my Raptor new in April last year, almost immediately after the purchase I noticed a rattle sound coming from the rear of the truck. I spent tons of time eliminating possibilities. It sounded like the spare tire was loose or the tailgate. The sound is a lot like a trailer hitch jiggling around in the receiver. I've discover it to be the stock Fox shocks. They make a knocking sound on certain small bumps that are more of a minor hit rather than bigger bumps. I can bounce up and down on the back bumper and it is very prevalent in the transition from compression to rebound. I have had it in to the dealer so many times I've lost track of how many times, they don't have a clue about solving the issue. I don't think many techs know about these shocks. I've reached out to Fox and they tell me to go to the dealer. Finally a few weeks ago the dealer got the factory rep to take it for a ride, he said it's a normal characteristic of the truck. Ya right! This is supposed to be an upgraded suspension and it rattles like it's thirty years old. I have driven two other raptors and found that they have the same noise but it's not as loud as on my truck. Does anyone have any experience with this? Try hopping up and down on the back bumper and listen for a knocking sound. I always drive in quiet mode so it has been pretty disappointing. I think it's a fox shock flaw but Ford has to deal with it, and they refuse. I love the truck, hate the disappointing rattle. I would really appreciate any suggestions or ideas.

First truck?
First Raptor. I had a 2015 F150 Lariat up until I got this truck, the 2015 was not as plush but more solid with it's basic suspension. I got a reply back from Fox this morning. After viewing the video I sent them and hearing the knocking sound they suspect it has an air bubble in the shock or it's low on nitrogen. The driver's side is louder than the passenger side but they both have the sound and you can feel the vibration from simply bounding the back of the truck a few inches. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if it's a Gen 3 live valve normal characteristic. It seems like it is based on my recent drive in another 2024 Raptor recently.

Raptor is ment for high speed off roading, not a quiet trip to Starbucks. Some street trade offs will happen with performance shocks. Hειι... you should hear bypass Kings.
