I agree. I wouldn’t pay a penny over msrp. Everyone was asking 5-10k over when I bought my 2017. Finally found a dealer that agreed to about 4K under msrp. Otherwise I would have just moved on to something else. These dealers will keep pushin these markups as long as people are willing to pay it. What kind of world are we living in that someone thinks 20k over is a deal. This is madness. Bring on the recession!

Your 100% correct, they call it a market for a reason, the problem isn’t the dealers as much as it’s the guys on here who pay 20-50k over for an F150. lol Anything desirable right now is gonna be hard to get. It’s human nature guys want what other guys can’t get.

It goes back to do you blame the drug dealers or the junkies?

We are the ones at fault for allowing this stupid markup game to happen. The dealerships are taking full advantage and not being honest. There’s nothing to stop them from taking the one allocation for an R they have (that they claim you have an order in for) and giving it to the guy who comes in next weekend and pays even more ADM than you did. This is essentially an unwitting bid war.

And your going to find one at MSRP? Only if your a long term customer at the dealer you ordered from. 40-60k$ is stupid. 20k$ isn’t bad cause I’m making more then that back on my gen 3 lol.
Of course you can. Wait until 2024, when they've ironed out the bugs, especially if you already have a Gen 3! It seems like a waste of money for impatience but it's your money. You worked for it, and you get to decide what to do with it. Just make sure to enjoy it!

I know it’s been said a million times. But the reason they can do this is because people pay adm. I just don’t understand why one would need a vehicle so bad there willing to loose money. It makes the fight getting an MSRP deal for everyone else wayy harder.

MSRP is the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (duh). Although we'd ideally like to think of it as the actual value/price of the vehicle, it rarely is. Supply and demand, both change over time and geographic location, means that the value/price can swing rather widely. So no, paying ADM doesn't necessarily mean you're losing money if the actual value is higher than MSRP. Heck, just saw someone post their Raptor for sale at a price about $15k above MSRP. I don't know what they paid for it, but certainly seems possible that they aren't losing money on the deal.

That's not to say that prices won't go down if buyer's collude and agree not to pay above a certain price, arbitrarily MSRP for example. You're controlling the market by controlling demand. It's not much different than if all the dealers decided they would not sell below $20k ADM....controlling supply essentially.

But anyway, IMO, I don't think it's really the best strategy to pay that much attention to MSPR. Pay attention to what the trucks are going for, whether above or below MSRP. Pay attention to how you think prices will change in the short term and whether it makes sense to wait a little bit. Pay attention to how well it hold value. Maybe most importantly, what's it worth to you? Doesn't matter if you get a good deal or your money is better spent elsewhere and you're not interested in a quick profit by flipping it.

Okay I correct myself. (Give your money away for no reason). My dealer offered me what I paid for my 21 Gen 3 so yes the market is hot. Ford literally does not want dealers marking up there product, but they are obviously not doing anything about it. People who are willing to pay ADM are the ones boosting the prices. It’s ridiculous. Starbucks drive through panzy pavement pounding freaks=ADM

I gave up , lowest ADM I was quoted was 40k . I will wait this one out , 40K is crazy for sure ! . I guess I’m a little different in that I won’t kick someone else for pulling the trigger and paying ADM .

the reason you gave up is because you haven’t kicked anyone lately ;)
