Rust proofing/winterizing?

Started applying Woolwax on the rear and working towards the front. First time for me and happy with how easy it is.

Gonna do the rear axle in black - looks like s h i t all rusty.

It’s a bit messy and messy working underneath later but at least it will prevent rust rot.

Ive done many many trucks with wool wax black. It is easy and very messy oh and it also doesn’t come out of clothes too well.
I should have all my items for the winterizing soon and then its gonna be a full day minimum of work lol

Haven't had a problem with mine yet, but then again they don't use that slurry brine mixture out here on our roads. Here its a salt/gravel mixture, so plenty of trips to the pressure washer self serve car wash for me.

Here's a good example, I've been waiting to get my concrete driveway poured and have the rebar that ties to the garage pad. I dug them all up to see this. And just for comparison sake, I have the exact same rebar spare pieces off to the side just as old but not getting hit with the road salt, and they are still in mint condition. Also I've been repairing section of my garage pad because the salt ate away the top layer that was expoxy coated.

One of our state plow guys stopped in to buy a truck. So i asked why cant we just use dirt. He said “it’s too expensive to clean up”. This would be the one time id be happy my taxes went up lol

So you guys doing woolwax:
1)are you buying the aerosol cans?
2)How many? I was just going to do my rockers at the very least.
3) are you pulling the tape and spraying inside rockers? How does tape stick when re applying?

i have a paint sprayer setup at work lol. Yes ill be doing inside the rockers and then wiping off the outside to retape (gorilla) and then spraying over it

I wasn't so sure about doing it inside the rockers. My worry is that dirt and crap would just stick to it and build up on it and then clog the drain holes at the seams.

I've never done the inside of mine, been almost 12 years and no rust yet. Knock on wood! I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. Always worry about condensation getting in there and not being able to drain out.
I'm pulling mine in the garage tomorrow to apply 2 cans of fluid film underneath, yearly ritual.

Yeah its definitely a possibility. Idk how much dirt gets in there with it all taped up. Im still new to fords lol
