One thing you might consider is resale. This in and of itself could make up a large chunk of that $10k "savings" because the Raptor will hold its value way better than the FX4. I went through this same exact dilemna back in the navigation unavailable period, but I sobered up and stuck with the 2012 Raptor.

Your right, the resale hold with the Raptor. But I think it won't be as good as it has been with the '10s and '11s. The more that are produced over the years the more that will be available for sale used. But it will be better than the FX4.

I have bought and sold many vehicles over the years and F150's are the easiest to get out of in my experience. They sell easy and hold their values when you load them up nice new!.

Unless you really want the extra foot in the bed, you are way better off getting the supercrew in FX4 form. You can only get the SCAB with a 5.5 ft bed in Raptor Trim. This was a big reason why I like the Raptor SCAB. 133" wheelbase makes parking lots and u-turns a lot friendlier.

LOL, well I spend 95% of the time on pavement, which is why this FX4 is looking so good.

So get the FX2 and save even more money. You can lift the front for a couple of hundred bucks. Find yourself a rear locker for <$1000 and it will go pretty much anywhere most people need.

I disagree. The '12s will stand out with the Torsen front differential and, to a lesser extent, the cooled seats and front camera (if so equipped.) And it will only be the second model year for the SCREW. But hey, it sounds like you've already made up your mind.

Time will tell with the resale.

I haven't bought anything yet, the wind may change direction. Still waiting on final numbers for my trade in, if they get to greedy I will just wait until I can sell the Mustang and see how I feel then.

Honestly I HATE the look of the screw 5.5' bed. And the longer bed for my needs is, well, a need haha. When it comes time for me to purchase I'll be getting a 6.5' bed.

It is not advisable to buy a new car (in this case the engine) if not still been in the real world, because there are always some problems.

The Ford Raptor refined these "problems", therefore more reliable and less depreciation in value, and maybe a collectable.

Regards.
