I will be going to the Ford dealer next week for oil change and battery tray replacement, I'll see what they say.

Mine look the same way.I know for a fact its from waxing the truck. After a few days of rain, the wax somehow drips onto them.I have powerwashed them and scrubbed them and it wont go away. The only thing that seems to take the edge off it is wd40 and a scrub brush, but it still comes back, just not as bad.

Mine are starting to do that right by the rear doors. No clue what is causing it, Subscribing to this thread to see what becomes of it.

I never waxed my truck and I know about wax turning black trim white and discoloring chrome.
And now I know I'm getting old because I just look at the car wash solution I have been using for a year and it has wax in it.
I was just not paying attention it's Rain X with beads of wax.

And come to think of it I also use RainX windshield washer fluid, both summer(bug and Tar) and winter(De-Icer) types.
I could just shoot myself.

I am going to contact Rain X and send them better pictures and see what happens.

Just came back from the dealer to drop off the truck for other services,
They all looked at my running boards and I will be getting replacements under warranty, due to fadding!

I will be tossing the RainX wash in the trash!!!!!!!!!!!
