They sell just fine because of the marketing trickery. However, I am not sure can afford the warranty side. Many of us have cam phaser rattling engines, plus there was the plastic oil pan dilemma, and then the updated valve covers, and the list goes on. Based on what's happening, that doesn't sound like a winning, money making approach. Based on the articles out there, the only place you will get a 3.5 ecoboost going forward is some f150 (non-raptor), and the expedition and navi.

Phaser rattle has been an issue on Ford engine well before ecoboost engines existed. If anything, it has improved greatly over the years. Plastic oil pan was a mistake, but only affects 1.5 years of production. I said it before and I'll say it again. EB has been a huge boom for Ford. You're taking a page out of Jaz' book and just making up your own reality

I'm not sure what your point is in the last sentence. Ford has increased where you find the 3.5 EB in the last year. It used to be a Raptor exclusive. You sound like you're trying to say they're scaling it back. At some point they might, not because its a failure but because they improve and replace it. Not exactly an uncommon practice.

Not to mention that In addition to the 3.5EB there's a 2.7EB and soon a 3.0EB that's before we include the 4 cylinder models like the 1.5, 2.0 and 2.3. But keep telling yourself that EB is a failure.

Hey stalker, search my history and show me where I said that. Bet you a dollar you can't find it.

You've spewed entirely too much BS for me to bother sifting through. You said it, I read it. You don't know what you're talking about. I'm glad I don't live in fear of a better truck existing than my own. Sad.

This is every bit as credible as someone saying they talked to their buddy who's a ford engineer and he said the V8 is most certainly coming. In fact, we had quite a few of those that said a V8 raptor would be here right around... Now actually.

Tons of people around here seem to have a Ford engineer friend who happens to validate their own opinion on what's coming. Very strange phenomenon in these here forums.
I was down to the Ford dealership talking to my salesman today. He's had 3 customers already come in and ask to put a deposit on a V8 Raptor. He said they haven't heard anything from Ford yet on this.

If you are going to criticize me, at least get your story straight. I said Ford wouldn't make a V8 Raptor. Separately I said FCA was too poor to do anything more than hellcat-ify the Ram by slapping on a blower and adding flared fenders and a lift kit.

So far I haven't been proven wrong in either case.

If you think the TRX is superior truck, by all means go buy one.

I think the TRX may end up being a better truck overall. What's not to like? Maybe the mustache grill? The interior is going to be great, suspension will be at least on par w/ the Raptor, it very well may have 37's and that is freakin' cuckoo for a stock truck, all powered by a proven Hellcat engine. It's going to be tough for Ford to beat it, but maybe they will. I just would like to say, once again that I may jump ship :lol2:

Many think the only thing wrong with the current Raptor is it lacks a V8. If the rumor happens, most will forget the TRX .

I don't think so. Both manufacturers want conquest sales. Ford wants some of Jeep share of sales with the new Bronco; and Ram wants some F-150 sales with their line of 1500 trucks. With the TRX they can compete head to head with no holes in their line. Competition is a great thing that we all benefit from.

I know,I know you cant beat a lively informative debate. The truth of the matter is that if it is just the " smoothness" issue behind the purchase of a V8, then buy a small block like Lexis or Range Rover(vomit on both).REALLY now, come on.I will be the first to admit to the passion behind pure testosterone from a V8 and chick magnet stuff, but when a tt V6 is offered for similar money AND more stick,i am first in line.
You guys are more fortunate over there with more choice, cheaper fuel and probably cheaper on- roads.
I do not like Ram Fiat and it is unfortunate that competition is the way it is.These big donks are pure highway delights and i do hope to see Ford match it and better it.
I am a big fancier of the Shelby Raptor in the V6 however.

Where else is the 3.5 ecoboost being used going forward?
