That won’t work as the rubber fits around the door edge. That tape is for flat pieces of molding, not contoured rubber meant to clip into place.Have you tried 3M double sided tape? The kind they use for moldings.

The rubber trim wraps around a thin piece of metal, locking into place. This would make it too thick and make the rubber not able to snap into place.This is what i am talking about.

There isn’t metal inside the rubber unfortunately. I think the only solution is couple dots of windshield silicone to hold it securely in place.Exactly what I was talking about
