This is currently occurring on my 2012 (just rolled over into 100K)!! Brought into Ford accurately diagnosed as Lead Frame Recall, however not eligible for any assistance and $1,700 Repair (that I don't have right now) 3-5 days time.. IDK what to do, it locked up on me traveling 45 in the snow (I slid thankfully) and had happened 2 other times (at lower speeds around 30) all of which has been in cold weather as transmission is warming up.

Did they tell you WHY your not covered...?? Did you get a recall notice...??
Dont have # off hand, but give Ford Motor Co. Corp office (customer service) a call...just google it....
I was also having problem with my recall (covered, but not covered because FORD installed a Whipple on it when new)and getting total run around....so called them...they were really good and actually did a 3 way call with my Ford Dealer....didnt solve my problem, but it was explained so I could understand...
Also,if your just listening to the dealer "service advisor" might want to get to a higher up....thats what my call to FMC did...got me to someone that knew what they were talking about.
Good luck....!

You're  not the original owner, correct? And the Carfax didn't show the recalls for the leadframe reprogramming, or maybe the brake booster issue or fuse 27? I think I got a leadframe reprogram notice around 2019(?) for my 2012 3.5 ecoboost. The dealer actually picked up the truck, did their deal, and brought it back to me the next day.

Didnt think it mattered if original owner.I bought my 2014 from original owner in 2016 and got notice mid 2023,and actually just got another few weeks ago..both by actual snail mail...

Curious as to why not covered..is it because its a 2012?..Mine is 2014 and got the safety recall notice and im 2nd owner
Actually not sure. Mine is a 2011 190,000 miles when it crapped out. Don't ever remember getting anything from Ford about it. Repair was reasonably priced so got it fixed at my local dealership
