Buy something to protect that rear frame.
I don't care who's kit you buy, but get one pronto.

Now that you have a different set of shocks, you will start pushing it harder, and pushing it harder bends these trucks in half.

Yeah I've had those sdhq frame inserts since day one and love em . An actual gusset/bump stops are def on my to do list thanks for the heads up rasco. I'm still debating between the icon rear frame kit or one of RPGs stage 2s.

I literally just got the truck out the shop. Blew the damn transmission....thank god for warranty.

They are all good kits, I know the outlaw off road guys have a good one too.
They all do the same thing, just different styles.

When I started building the ARMY OF DARKNESS I ordered the RPG frame from Kirk at Raptor Addict: Your one stop Ford Raptor parts and enhancement store for true enthusiasts

Plugging in my friend there :chewie:

Looks great. I'm running the Icons on all four corners as well. Are you prepping for winter? I see you already have one metal stud installed on your tire!

I'm running the RPG Stage 2 and I love it. When they installed my Stage 2, they removed my SDHQ frame brackets and the brackets were already bent. I was going to sell them, but couldn't because of the damage. I put them on before TRR last year and went one lap around the track before replacing them with the Stage 2. I guess they protected my truck from worse damage.

I'm not saying the SDHQ brackets are junk, but they are for less aggressive drivers. The boxed in frame kits and bump stops are a lot more money and provide a lot more protection.

Holy crap I just noticed the nail LOL. I'm on the bike so when I get home I'm definitely pullin that sucker out. I was bone stock on top perch with the sdhq inserts at the last raptor run and I was also at Raptoberfest. I'm always checking the gap and looking at the frame to see if it's bent at all. Seems good so far. And I beat the absolute shit out of my truck. I blew the POwer steering at TRR and took out another pump as well as the whole rack at Raptoberfest. I feel like even though the last one was much shorter the track itself was brutal on the trucks. A lot more than I expected at least.

I'll definitely have a frame kit on before the next run I just gotta save up. Hopefully I'll have a few other goodies on the truck as we'll by then. As far as where i get my stuff from its def gonna be TMX. Danny hooks it up and they do a great job every time.

Would it surprise you that SDHQ contacted me after my post? Well it shouldn't!! All of the great vendors on FRF provide this type of customer service. They honestly do want to improve their products. Jason offered to take care of me for my trouble.

That my friends is why I stick to a handful of great vendors for all my needs! My list includes RPG, TMX, ADD, SDHQ, Rigid, and Outlaw Raptor. I only listed vendors I've done numerous purchases from. Other good vendors with one-time purchases are Raptor Retrofit, 5-Star, XRD, and MBRP. Locally I use 4WheelParts and Five-R-Trucks. If I didn't mention you, I probably just haven't bought your products yet.

In my opinion the roughest, most brutal activity you can do to your truck isn't jumping - it's landing! If you plan on getting air, get your truck properly prepared!

I did order the SDHQ kit and sold it before it even hit my front door. I decided after buying it to get the RPG Stage 2 too. Having TMX installing it the day before TRR plus some other stuff. Brandon seems to be a great guy, spoke with him over the phone several times.

My number one recommendation is your trailer plug. Either relocate it to the bumper or just pull it off and tape the plug off so it doesn't get dirty and zip tie the wiring up high. The only other way to kind of save it is run a trailer hitch that's long enough to drag instead of your trailer plug.

So true and wise words bud. Thats one thing I forget till it's too late. It has taken a beating bigtime everytime for me just cause your're too anxious to get on the course and forget the basics.
