Whats the difference in ride and handling with the stage 4 and 4+? Is it a no-brainer to get the front coilovers? Also, what about the TR? worth it?
Front 3.0 coil overs ARE a no brainer because without them you can't realize all the potential of the rear upgrades - the stock front shocks are now the rate-limiting step. Since you have max'd out the rear suspension, you now HAVE to do the same to the front to get the full effect.
The RPG stage kit + 3.0's is in a word AWESOME!! Ride on pavement has really not changed - nice & smooth. Once offroad it's a huge improvement. Was jumping it today offroad and it is a very different machine.
For one thing, the offroad ride felt by the driver is much smoother - no longer being thrown around as much and soaks up hard impacts so doesn't feel like you are killing your truck. At TRR copilot and myself felt like our insides were bouncing around so much they would end up outside... and we hit a lot of badness so HARD it really HURT! That is a brutal course - even worse if driven fast. With this setup can confidently drive much faster with more control. No longer feels like mostly out of control chaos!
The landing after a jump is markedly improved - the suspension feels like is is not bottoming out so badly. Also appears to have greatly diminished the secondary bouncing after coming down. Makes me want to find bigger air!
My RPG TR's have been ordered (black to match Fox 3.0's). Have heard only good reports about more responsive steering (see Pat's previous post). Best reason to get them along with the RPG Raceline UCA's is they can handle the abuse - are not going to leave you stranded out in BFE.
Rumour has it they will before very long
