Do I have a radio to barrow I would like 3 for farming any how. i would like to try them first, unless I get RW and joe to bring them from trr to save on shipping. I'm not looking forward to spending $600 unless they work that good.

We can bring them from TRR, no problem. Are you thinking 3 hand held radios? Or a base unit and two hand held radios? If you want a base unit, check out the TYT9000 vhf. It's less expensive than the icom, but works just ass well. A lot of the support trucks were running them at the snoball500. Although, I am having an issue with mine, o think it's a one off case that I still need to figure out. Hit up kanakry for more info.

I was going to go hand held. from treypal. we have spent a shit load of coin last year so even the 600 has to be considered with the obama and his wonderful tax crap. A buddy owes me some coin but I would never tell him I need the cash now. gotta keep some for the just in case. + I want good ones even if it costs a bit more some times price don't matter but some times it dose. led lighting for exg. I should know more in a few weeks. I need to learn how to say info when typing but that is what this sight is about right.

Wilson - keep in mind that an external antenna for a handheld only changes your transmitting location, not the range or power. (Yes you get a bit more range from being unobstructed in he cab) but that's negligible.

Just something to keep in mind if your going to make a purchase

ya I get all excited and feel obliged if it's a good deal but I need to look at the options. for most of what I need on farm a mile would work but 5 is better. we had bought some from cabala's a few years ago they where supposed to be the best but sucked so I'm a little stand offish I think I will just Waite and see how they work on the trip.

The wauxon hand held with ext mag mount antenna is what I'll be using. Don't have enough experience with yet to talk intelleligently (yes damnit, that's the only reason).
I also have a 2nd unit with a better anttena for spotter, scout, beer runner etc.

Terrain also plays a factor Wilson. I guarantee you'll get better range on your farm than we will up in the mountains for the run. If you want to wait until after you use our hand held, you can get a feel for it. I don't believe the shipping from Trey would be crazy savings anyway. He combined the shipping for the two he sent us and I want to say it was $10.
