Let me start out by saying this build was fully paid for out of my own pocket. RPG did not give me these shocks for promotional purposes.

I have been wanting to upgrade to 3.0's for quite some time and researched and talked to everyone I could think of until I felt comfortable with my decision. Corey with RPG did my install the day before the track opened at the Texas Raptor Run:
RPG Stage 4+ with Race Line UCA's.
RPG Frame Support with Air Bump Mounts
Fox 2.5 Air Bumps
National SD Leaf Springs
RPG tuned Fox 3.0 Rear Bypass Shocks
Fox 3.0 Front Coil-over Shocks
RPG Upper Control Arm 1.5 Bearing Race Line
(I'm also getting RPG's Steering Tie Rods but they are not installed yet)

First, my background. I drive off-road pretty much every day. I have a ranch in NE Oklahoma and have extensive seat time in ATV's, dirt bikes, side by sides and trucks of all flavors. I've also done a little bit of road circuit racing. I push my vehicles hard. I don't want to come across like an arrogant *********, I just want you to know I can appreciate balanced machines that reward driver skill.

So I had 2 days and about 250 miles of hard off-roading at the Texas Raptor Run plus a 600 mile on-road return trip.

Off Road impressions: One word. Amazing. RPG has done their homework on this suspension setup. They have obviously not haphazardly thrown this package together and tried to cash in on Raptor owners wanting to make their trucks even better. The new setup performed flawlessly. Like I said in another post, the amount of gain in control is insane. I drove this same course a year ago with my stock truck set at mid perch. I was able to carry significantly more speed through the course this year after this install. Bumps that would upset the chassis on my stock truck are now simply waived off by this transformed beast. RPG has strived at fine tuning this setup and, in my honest opinion, they have built upon the Raptor's capability and made an incredible truck comprehensively better.

On Road impressions: This is the area that I was a little apprehensive about. The competition touts the advantage of easily adjustable shocks and that sounded like a great selling point. The Raptor is my daily driver, whether it be bombing through pastures or going cross-country on vacation. The trip home from TRR settled any fears I had of these shocks not being appropriate for road use. You do not lose any of the plushness of a stock Raptor on the highway. This thing rides like a Cadillac with the Fox 3.0's. After having real-world experience with these shocks, I can't imagine why you'd need the option of adjustability.

Jarrett and Corey are great to deal with. They carefully listened to my needs and offered sound expert advice in return. They have built their business from the ground up and are hungry to be the best. They represent what I love about this country.

I hope this review can be helpful to my fellow Raptor owners out there.

Awesome write up Rich. I was hesitant to even comment on this thread as most know i fly the RPG flag and fly it high.

This quote can't be emphasized enough and the same went for me:

"Let me start out by saying this build was fully paid for out of my own pocket. RPG did not give me these shocks for promotional purposes."

Might be surprising for some but it's true.

Rich was cool enough to offer me the passenger seat in his truck on the first lap on Friday. I was a little worried what I got myself into hearing the stories how he attacked that track last year. Like most others, it's more comforting driving versus riding... Rich is a very skilled driver and put any worries at ease in less than a few minutes. The guy gets after it and it was so cool to hear his initial reaction to the setup.

My honest opinion is that this packaged setup is second to none on the market. I personally beat on Corey's truck for 200 miles this weekend and thought I had broke it multiple times. It was fast, smooth and downright nasty on that rough rutted out track.

Guys, it's the real deal... coming from a real customer who just happened to become friends with these guys. It's more of a family rather than a company. I've never experienced anything like it.

Rich, again brother... you are one awesome dude and I look forward to meeting up with ya in the near future.

We already knew this about you..

All kidding aside.. RPG crew is a great bunch of guys. I have the utmost respect for all of them (including their fan boys/girls)

And thanks Charlie, for being my co-driver. So much more fun having a passenger along for the ride.
You too, Eric!
