Hi Guys,

Hi recently purchased a 2010 Ford Raptor which has got the Roush supercharger kit installed on it. I am facing couple of issues with it.

1. When i took it to the sand dunes last weekend and trying to climb tall slip faces and at involves sharp turning angles the supercharger belt comes off luckily the belt it did not break so i was able to put the belt back on drive the vehicle safely out. What could the reason for the belt to slip off. PS the truck does have a Howe heavy power steering kit on it.

2. When cruising on the highway and doing above 130 to 140kph i notice that the engine keep hunting between the rpm.If am below 120kph everything is fine. Could this be a tuning issue? Truck has been tuned by a local tuner who i do not trust. Who do you guys recommend to tune this truck. Since i am in Dubai i think i would require an email tune.

Is there a belt wrap kit for the supercharger that prevents the belt from slipping?
Does anyone have the part number for the K&N air filter that is equivalent to the Roush air filter. Since i cant find the Roush air filter hear in Dubai

Hi,
Dont have the Roush, but my 2014 Shelby has the Whipple...62K on it now..never had that problem....but just put new one on last month anyway...its cheap insurance.
I'm no expert by any means..but as far as belt slipping off, have you tried a new belt....is your the original...might just be stretched and worn out??
Wish I could help more.. :-(
Good luck...

There are a lot of posts about the rousch belt falling off, others always keep a spare belt with them. There are a few threads on here about it, if you use the search function. I would look, but i'm busy atm. Good luck.

I had issues as well. It would throw a belt (at best) or rip the tensioner arm completely off every single time I was at WOT in 4wd Hi on a 1-2 shift and once from a 2-3. I called VMP and removed a ribbed idler pulley and got a tune from Justin. No issues since.

The issues may be related: bad tune, belt slippage, RPM issues. If you get a decent tune (I highly recommend JDM at teamjdm.com who does email tunes) it may resolve that issue altogether. You may also want to invest in the 72mm pulley and new belt that JDM offers as well. Good luck!

Check belt alignment (you can just use a straight edge across each of the pulleys), pull the belt and make sure none of the pulleys have any play.

Roush makes a shield to help keep the belt on. I have one on my truck and haven't had an issue. I couldn't find it on their site, but here's the info:

2010-2014 6.2L F-150 Raptor FEAD Shield Kit P/N: 421912 (1162-SHLDKIT-AA) $119.99
