Right now we are working on a 2013 Roush Raptor that had an oil pump gear failure and caused the engine to lock up. After doing a brake-stand burn out the customer said the vehicle shut off, he tried to restart it and it shut off again, on the third try it wouldn't turn over at all. The bearings had seized and the motor was completely locked due to loss of oil pressure after his factory oil pump gears failed. The gears can break or shatter under harsh vibration or shock caused from tire spin, wheel hop, or just simply too much power/torque.

After diagnosing the failure we went ahead and ordered a brand new Ford Re-manufactured engine with a 3 year dealer warranty. We removed the front cover and timing components and took out the stock oil pump. We replaced the factory gears with the Triangle Speed Shop Billet Gears set. These gears are hardened and much stronger then the factory gears, similar to ones we use in our 1400+ HP Cobra Jet race engines!
The Motor is currently on a stand while we are removing the stock engine. Tomorrow or the next day we hope to have the old damaged engine out and the new engine with reinforced oil pump gears in and close to running.
While the new engine was on a stand we decided it would be perfect time to replace all the spark plugs before having to do it while the engine is in the truck! The customer also requested Kooks headers and Catted Y pipe to save some additional labor!
