I have the same problem even with the newer style rails they sent me. Every time I hit a speed bump, even at like 10mph, I have to pull over and re-latch it. It's very annoying and wish I got something different.

The problem is the plastic latch parts that catch the rails are too short and only grab about 1/4" on each side. So with any bump or flex, they pop open.
sounds like you need to install shims

I had to take off the star/hand nuts and fiddle with the stop bolt things that engage the latch. Once adjusted I put the star nuts back on to maintain the position of those bolts. Now the cover sits perfectly flush and seals against the tailgate. Also, my latches have lots of "bite" and there's no way they are popping off unless I grab air and come down super hard... even then they might hold, but I've not put my truck through such paces, yet. (As a simple test I hit a big speed bump in my work parking lot while going a good speed... other than getting the security guard to holler at me, nothing happened. :))

Thanks.
This info helped me decide. So I just bought one from Morrie. Evidently they have beefed up some part of it to address the issue of unlatching when offroading.
