During a 30,000 mile service last week, I was asked about - and agreed to - a tire rotation.

Since then, I've noticed road noise at highway speeds.

Just wondering if it's my imagination?

Will it go away as the tires wear - hopefully sooner than later?

Naturally, I'm interested in anyone having rotated tires on their Raptor. But any general experiences are also welcome.

Have you checked the air pressure to ensure the tires are not over inflated? Common problem with tire rotations.

This is normal. As you drive, the ‘cleats’ on the tires develop directional wear.

this was the first hit I found that explained it, but pictures help show it better

This is especially true if you’re going long intervals between service. When you then change the orientation / direction of travel, you get more road noise.

...Specifically, the angle at which the tread blocks touch, the pavement changes and so leads to uneven contact. This sudden change is what generates the unusual noise.

Fortunately, this is not dangerous at all, and the tires noise after rotation will fade in time as the wear patterns on the tires readjust– usually after about another thousand miles.

Was this the first rotation of the tires?

Pretty common for AT and MT tires. You need to rotate them more often if you want to prevent that.
