Rigid Radiance Backlight Question

Just installed my fog kit purchased here from a member but after running the wires I noticed that the harness that came with the kit did not have a white wire for the backlighting. Would It be better to run a separate wire from the fog to pass thru wires or just try to tap in to the existing side marker or headlight yellow lights? Would anyone have an idea of which to get power from, ideally when running lights are on the Radiance backlit would be on?

You can definitely run a separate wire for the backlighting. A lot of folks are tapping into their running lights on their fender to trigger the backlighting.

If you're wanting an all in one wiring harness, we do offer a harness that has a separate wire for the backlighting as well.

If you're wanting an all in one wiring harness, we do offer a harness that has a separate wire for the backlighting as well.

Not sure what kit you got... the Rigid Radiance kit we offer includes a harness that has a 4th wire, which is a control wire. So i'm guessing it's not our kit. If you got a kit designed for your Raptor it should have come with a control wire (back light wire), otherwise who knows what you actually got.

The backlighting draws very little power. Most folks are directly connecting them to the OEM running lights or with our harness like ours connecting them to a separate aux switch. With that said, adding a relay isn't a bad idea if you want to connect them directly.

Super awesome info guys, thanks knew the experts would chime in. Purchased from Garage Sale here and was a 3 light setup with only one Radiance Scene. Harness had only power/ground kit. I was so excited to get it installed I made sure that I routed it how I wanted. Took off the skid plate and lowered the intercooler just to stick the harness between the plastic sheet right above the intercooler. After installing the mount and lights noticed that the Radiance did not have a plug just bare wire ends while the harness had only the power/ground (red/black). Anyways finished the install with the white wire terminated. Everything works fine but now after looking at the truck wanted to get the amber backlight working.

Again thanks to the vendors that chimed in since I already ran the wires probably gonna go with the tap in route. Good to know the support is the best here!!!

Now to find the correct wire to get power from...:D

I installed my Rigid radiance lights over the weekend and couldn't be happier. I wired the amber back light to upfitter switch #5 and just leave it always on, so when the truck is on so are they. I was nervous about having all six pods on at once and blinding other drivers, so I wired pairs on individual upfitter switches to allow one/two/three pair operation. That said, I had them all 'on' today on the way to the gym; the fogs filled the areas near the truck and to the sides where the headlights do not, and the bumper mount isn't high enough to blind cars... at least that I could tell.
