that is cool. Is it posable to just put led in the stock lights.

Is it a lot better, like middle of the two in the pic

I ordered the AMB kit so I'll post up another pic just like this one for a comparison.

The rigid lights are way higher power LEDs though than replacement ones for the stock tails. So the tail LEDs will be a small improvement, but nothing like the aux lights. The biggest reason I got them was just so it's a nice white color instead of ugly yellowish.

DPST = double pole, single throw. A normal switch is SPST (single pole single throw). So it has 2 prongs, and it's on or off. A DPST has 3 prongs. The lights go to the middle prong. The reverse light power and the aux power go to the outer 2 prongs. So when it's in 1 position it's powered by the reverse lights, in the other position it's powered by the aux power.

Thanks Reptar. What I would really like to do is have the lights wired such that they come on when the reverse lights are on OR when I turn them on using one of the built-in upfitter switches (Aux 4, in this case). Any ideas on a way to wire for that?

If you've gotta cut anyway I say just get the flush mount, they look more OEM style.

I'd watch out with amber ones on the rear for use on the street. DOT rules are red only on the rear, and amber on the other sides of the vehicle. Amber can only be for turn signals on the rear. I wouldn't use them as running lights as in white out conditions as it may confuse drivers who can't see much as it is in the white out and they may think its an oncoming vehicle with seeing amber lights instead of red.

The ones I posted are flush mounts they are new from RIGID and have a more OEM look than the partial triangles of the Duallys, IMO. I will check with motor vehicle lighting rules in my area,I was planning on using the amber's in a flashing mode. Trailers have amber's on the rear and no one mistakes those for oncoming traffic.

Strange because I was having this conversation with my neighbour about ambers perhaps not being allowed on the back of a vehicle when he pointed to his enclosed trailer with amber lights on the back on said no they are allowed, might be a Canadian thing, LOL!

Similar to how mine are. They're wired to default be on with the factory reverse lights. Then I can also turn them on with a switch for aux lighting if I'm behind the truck either loading the trailer or working on something behind it in the dark. I decided against the upfitter because if I'm in the truck and I need light behind me, I'm just going to put it in reverse. If I'm getting out of the truck and need light behind me with it parked, I want the ability to turn it on or off right from the bed of the truck, not have to walk in the cab and flip a switch and go back out. Also you need the key on for the upfitters to work. I don't like leaving my keys in the truck let alone ignition on.

Not sure what you mean partial triangles. My rigids are squares. I just think the Dually/D2 style look a bit more flush mount since they're recessed behind the flange. Those SRM ones stick out past the flange and dont look quite as flush, they look more surface mount.

Didn't know you were in canada, but trailers here will have ambers on the sides, but always red for the brake/parking lamps. Automobiles here must have red for brake and parking lights on the rear. Turn signals can be either amber or red, but 99% of the time now days they're red.
