I will let the otehr Dan answer LOL, but this Dan would say the rug first as the BakFlip may make it difficult to work in the very front 6-8 inches as the top is fixed at that point.... Just my opinion!

Sorry, thought you meant you had them both and were installing, if you only get one first, then the Bakflip first, then install the rug!

My goal is to install both within days of each other. I only ask because it seems like it would be easier to install the rug first but it may be exposed to the elements for a couple of days. So I guess I'm asking will the bed rug be okay for a few days without a cover and will the bed cover installers be able to install the bed cover with the bed rug already installed.

Yes and yes, however it took me all of 15 minutes to install the F1 cover my myself. Not sure what the installer is charging you but you may want to give it a go! And I still say install the rug first, cover second, as the cover does have a portion up front that will be hard to install the rug under. Just my .02

No, you won't have any problem installing the Bedrug with the Bakflip already in place.

The bedrug is intended for use with or without a cover. It claims to stand up to water, sun, dirt and bird **** without any bad effects. After owning one for a short time and looking at the material first hand, i think there claims might be correct. I certainly wouldn't worry about having it uncovered for a few months waiting for a cover. Bird **** is the biggest problem. It really stands out on the gray rug.

Well, now that you're providing more information, I'd do the Bedrug first. It absolutely will hold up to whatever elements you can throw at it in a few days. Doing the Bedrug first will make it easier and the Bakflip install is the same with our without the Bedrug.

I 've had the Bakflip HD on for over a month now, I LOVE IT. The only problem I have had is with my Ford Truck tent position with the cover flipped all the way forward. That 6 inches at the front really throws the tent outta wack, not to the point it doesnt stand up, but it makes the zipper tough to close as the door (back side) of the tent is hanging over the rear abit.

I give it a 9.5 outta 10. I only give 10/10 with a bribe at wet t-shirt contests.

I put the F1 on Saturday and that same day had to go pick up a small love seat for my in-laws, the top worked perfect! Flipped it up, locked it in place, and no issue... it was nice to see it in action. My Sport Trac had that double flip, front to back and back to front so you could never use the whole bed without removing the cover, and that was a pain! I love the F1
