Just having some thoughts on this, has anybody had their resonator and muffler deleted due to being on a low budget and looking for more of a growl on this huge 6.2L ?

A few of us have, more for the reason of not wanting to waste money on aftermarket exhaust only to find out it drones/sounds terrible/isn't as loud as we wanted it to be though, I personally love it, no drone, it can be silent when you need it to be if you are just barely into the throttle, and it absolutely roars at the top end, also because the exhaust exits the pipe under the truck, it seems like it doesn't carry very far, I've gone full throttle and come up on a cop about a 1/10th mile away and let off and they don't even seem to notice

So, you're saying i would have to dump it right after the cab? I was planning to just remove them both and replace them with straight pipe, but my guess is that's going to cause more drone to happen, correct?

Why not do that in stages. Remove the muffler, leaving the resonator, first and see how you like that.

If you want louder, next remove the resonator.

I like your idea of using the existing tips. You might even consider replacing them with some double walled tips (for looks).

No, you don't have to dump it after the cab, the end of my exhaust is right underneath the passenger seat facing towards the rear of the truck, I think if you replaced them with straight pipes that exited out from underneath the truck it wouldn't drone, but it sounds like any turndown exhaust drones bad, just make sure you support the new pipe with well designed hangers so the exhaust doesn't fall down during hard offroading

I've gotten to the point where I kinda wish my exhaust was louder, but I don't want to go to headers and get that raspy metallic sound at the top end

OP, check my build thread for detailed instructions from Cleave on how to do this. I did it to mine and I love it!!! Loud as ****, rumbles, and turns heads!!

Also, Archon just had his exhaust break while we are out in Ocotillo so he joined the no exhaust crew.

I've done plenty of mods. This is my favorite

Hey Cleave or Jack would you mind positing a good video of the sound at idle, a couple revs and the idle again? I may do this. Thanks!

Just put a cutout in. Best of both worlds! Mine's going on 3 1/2 years old and still working.
