But who would buy an RS5 when there's the RS7? Or a Cadillac ATS when there's the CTS? A lot of the cars you listed are the starter or baby versions of the real ones on offer. They are not for enthusiasts; they are for the image conscious buyer who doesn't want to spend too much for real performance -- just wants to look like he did.

Crazy talk, you buy the smaller version not because of the engine you buy it cause it fits your needs and it's a different driving experience. Why would you buy an M3 over an M5? I can give you many reason why, same as the ATS or RS5....

Same as why when offered different engines people chose the smaller, or more efficient, or less powerful versions in F150's, Yukons, Tahoes, Corvettes, and the list goes on and on.

If your think if they offered the V8TT and V6TT in Raptor form that the V8TT would out sell the V6TT? You're an idiot and then I ask you to show me one example of a variant where the larger displacement motor with a higher cost, worse fuel efficiency, and more of a niche performance appeal outsells its "inferior" variant. Name me one.

You can make up all the reasons one would buy an inferior vehicle all you like. The point is, BMW, Audi, Mercedes... all the flagship cars are V8s or larger. People buy the smaller ones mainly because they can't afford the bigger ones but they want the brand image.

Nobody who is buying a giant pickup truck with a "HO" motor is doing it for efficiency. That's nonsense.

I am that person, and is the exact reason why I didn't buy the Gen1 Raptor. My truck is my daily driver, and we own a 2017 GLC43 for the wife and when the GLC63 comes out guess what...she doesn't want it and I don't need it, can we afford it - bet your ass we can. I also own a 2017 Hellcat Charger. Sooo, if and when a V8TT were to come out and I had an option for a V6TT...guess which one I would choose??? The truck I have now (do you even own a Raptor, I doubt it). So maybe I'm an anomaly, but unlike you Truckzor aka Typical Troll I put my money where my mouth is. So you can GTFOH if you don't mind, and let the big boys have a decent debate on real issues and topics. Later Troll.

I do believe you are exactly the person I described. The image buyer.

You say you want to get back on topic? Great. The issue at hand is the forthcoming 7.0 liter DOHC V8, by the way. And, of course, why it is the ideal engine for the Raptor. If you don't have any interest in one, then why are you here?

My Raptor is in the link in my sig. And I'll post wherever I like, thank you very much. Do feel free to wander on over to the Jenny specific forum if you need a safe space.
